Wytwórnia Podkładów Strunobetonowych S.A. (Pre-tensioned Pre-stressed Concrete Railroad Sleepers Manufacturing Plant) in Goczałków was established by transformation of a state-owned company.

The state-owned company „Przedsiębiorstwo Państwowe Wytwórnia Podkładów Strunobetonowych” in Goczałków was removed from the register as of 2 January 1996 and the enterprise continued its operations as the Railroad Sleepers and Prefabricated Elements Manufacturing Plant (Zakład Produkcji Podkładów Kolejowych i Elementów Prefabrykowanych).

Since its establishment in 1958, the plant has concentrated on production of reinforced concrete railroad sleepers, pre-tensioned pre-stressed concrete railroad sleepers and other prefabricated elements for the rail industry. Over the last 50 years, 11.2 million railroad sleepers and 88,480.5 metres of pre-tensioned prestressed concrete switch railroad sleepers have been manufactured in the plant. The plant has been modernized several times. As a result of the latest modernization, which took place in 1995, the plant began manufacturing railroad sleepers and switch railroad sleepers made of pre-tensioned pre-stressed concrete for high-load and high-speed rail traffic. Products made of pre-tensioned pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete and concrete primarily for rail and road contruction industries are manufactured using separate workstations of a production line supplied by the Italian company STIARM.

High quality concrete is provided by electronically controlled concrete batching plant manufactured by the company SKAKO from Denmark. We guarantee high quality of products through a certified quality management system compliant with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 standard applicable to production of prefabricated elements made of pre-tensioned pre-stressed concrete, reinforced concrete and concrete.
