The Warsaw Commuter Rail Ltd (WKD) provides passenger agglomeration services for citizens of six communes in west-southern part of Mazovia Voivodship and western part of Warsaw. The company’s offer includes rides on the route Warszawa Śródmieście WKD – Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska with a branch in Podkowa Leśna to Milanówek.

In 2007 we transported above 6,6 million passengers reaching a slight growth passengers services carried in comparison with 2006. On average we transport 556 thousand passengers a month. Currently WKD employ 234 people, including 46 engine drivers.

The Company manages railway line infrastructure of the WKD that is leased from the PKP JSC. Two electrified railway lines: Warszawa Śródmieście WKD – Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska and Podkowa Leśna Główna – Milanówek Grudów together with 28 stations and passenger halts and also technological siding Komorów -Pruszków are parts of it. The Company is the owner of energetic line (which supports the traction system) and telecommunication cable. Rolling stock operated on the WKD lines covers 33 electric multiple units series EN94, manufactured in 1972 by Wrocław Factory “PAFAWAG” and one electric vehicle series EN95, manufactured in 2004 by Rail Vehicles PESA Bydgoszcz JSC Holding. The Company performs on its own inspections and repairs both the scheduled and to clear up the resulting of damages.

The most important strategic assumptions of the Company for coming years assume to: replace rolling stock, modernization and build new elements of the infrastructure and upgrade comfort of travel.
