FRENOPLAST was established in 1985. It manufactures friction materials and products mainly for rail but also for braking systems used in various industries.


For the past ten years Frenoplast’s rail products have been applied by PKP (Polish railways) in their Inter- and Euro city trains. The acceptance of the International Union of Railways has also allowed the use of Frenoplast’s pads in the European Union markets for traffic up to 200 km/h. This has opened up the opportunity for Frenoplast to export its products. Competition is helped by the virtues of Frenoplast pads: long disc and pad life as well as outstanding performance in cold and wet conditions.


Now Frenoplast is working on new generations of products: composition shoes (high- and low friction coefficient materials) for passenger and goods wagons – they are intended to assure that the railway becomes a more environmentally friendly means of transport. However, for a few years already Frenoplast supplies composite K blocks to EU for industrial rail operators and for the maintenance company to be used in maintenance rail vehicles.


Frenoplast has ISO Quality System PN-EN ISO 9001:2001, PN-EN ISO 1400-:2005, PN-N-18001:2004, EN ISO 9001:2008 and IRIS certificate. We also have temporary UIC homologation for brake shoe K.


Frenoplast has been awarded a number of honours and prizes e.g.: „Fair Play Company” (twice), „The Outstanding Polish Exporter”, „Europroduct 2000”, „Innovation Leader 2007”, the second prize in the category of The Best Small Exporting Enterprise in the „EXPROM II” competition.
