Rail Transport Forum (FTS) is an employers’ union whose formation was initiated by railway infrastructure managers from industrial railway, private goods carriers, side tracks managers and renowned consultancy analytic firms. Rail Transport Forum is an resilient organization which can be proud of remarkable successes.


Thanks to FTS members endeavour the solution of long-term problem connected with unfair ground tax collection from railway line grounds has succeeded. Common activities and lobbing in this scope resulted in the system solution of that problem which private infrastructure managers have been struggling for many years with. Overcoming so difficult legislative and economic barriers by our union is possible thanks to active and effective actions of our members among who there are great lawyers, scientists, managers and famous experts and analysts from rail transport branch. The main aim of Rail Transport Forum is the elimination of barriers in running business in Poland in rail transport market area. We initiate and support also actions aiming at broader opening of the passenger and goods railway carriage market, broader development of private carriers and also stopping of side track and local railway line liquidation.


Among our priority actions there are:

• support of open railway market development,
• support of elaboration and implementation of a law about public transport,
• help in dissemination and implementation of new technologies in rail transport,
• simplification of rules of functioning and certification of side tracks,
• repeal of tax fees for active side tracks grounds and grounds utilized for rail transport service,
• simplification of homologation procedures of the rolling stock in operation or the historic one,
• making real building requirements, exploitation and rolling stock repairs,
• implementation of light railway systems (according to tram-railway conception),
• simplification of origin and functioning rules of passenger, goods and self-government local railway,
• simplification of rules of seizing local railway lines by self-governements and their management for the transport purposes.
